At the heart of God and his mission, is love. When Jesus was asked, “What is the greatest commandment?” His answer revolved around the concept of love. “Love God, and Love Others,” was the heart of his message. One of the unfortunate bi-products of ‘churchianity’ is that we’ve turned love into law. Today, Christians and churches are known more for the rigidity of their rules, rather than the generosity of their love.
The heart behind this series is not to simply have people understand what love is, but to become ‘generous’ with their love. Toward that end, we’re going to look at the Biblical perspective of what real love is, and each week, challenge each person to live out what the most important thing is - LOVE. We’re going to walk through 1 Corinthians 13 through the course of 10 weeks, apply the definitions of love to ALL of life. Most people do well loving people who are like themselves. But what happens when people believe differently, vote differently, act differently?
This summer series will look at this question, what is love and what are we without love?
