Walking with God through Pain and Suffering
The question has already been asked, "Why do a series on pain and suffering?" Two distinct answers stand out for this question. First, there seems to be no greater challenge to genuine faith than what is presented to us when we experience or watch others, in suffering. The second reason for such a series is it seems that even those with faith are ill-prepared to walk through the valleys that are an inevitable part of the human experience.
For every mountaintop, there is a valley. And, while we love the mountaintop here at Summit, we are also here for the valleys. This sermon series can be broken into three distinct sections. In the first portion we will talk about what is true, from both a theological and philosophical standpoint. In part two, we will move to the practical nature of how we respond when we're in the middle of suffering and pain. And the final section sets its eyes on the future and how we move onward in life in light of suffering.
